Update 5/19/20
The safety and wellbeing of our participants, volunteers, event staff, and spectators is always our top priority. As we prepare for the 2020 Clarence DeMar Marathon and DeMar Half Marathon, we’re closely monitoring the developments related to COVID-19. That includes staying in close contact with our partners at the City of Keene, Keene State College, and Cheshire Medical Center to help us plan and execute an event that everyone can enjoy safely.
Based on the information available to us today, we are continuing our preparations for the event, currently scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2020. On June 30, we will be reevaluating circumstances that impact our event and hope to make decisions on maintaining the 9/27/20 schedule or push the event back to 11/1/20. If that decision has been made, we will communicate to all registered runners, and updated our website and FB page with all options available to those runners. On July 31st, we will again reevaluate circumstances and make a decision on the 11/1/20 date. It is our commitment to keep all participants informed. We will continue to provide updates as we get closer to race weekend.
We have traditionally maintained a No-refund policy for DeMar races. At this time, we are maintaining that policy as is. Given the uncertainty of this pandemic and so much unknown about the impact of our event, we reserve the right to adjust or amend that policy if the circumstances allow, allowing for any number or combination of options if we are forced to move back, or cancel the 2020 DeMar races.
We are maintaining a very optimistic, yet realistic approach to our planning, and believe if we are able to run the 2020 DeMar races, it will be an opportunity for an amazing celebration among our community of runners! We hope you’re able to be a part of it. In the meantime, stay safe, stay positive, and keep running!
