Keynote Speaker for 2025

Patti Dillon, a pioneer in woman’s running, shattered barriers throughout her career, becoming the first American woman to break 2 hours and 30 minutes in the marathon. She has been a silver medalist 3 times in the Boston Marathon and continues to inspire athletes with her passion, perseverance, and groundbreaking achievements.
At one time she held world records in the 5 mile, 20K, Half Marathon, 30K and Marathon events and American records in the 10K, 15K and 10 mile events. She is a 5-time winner of both the Honolulu and Newport Marathons. In 2006 she was inducted into the Long-Distance Hall of Fame. She is very proud of her heritage and is a MI’KMAQ tribal member and is known as the fastest Indigenous woman runner in history.

What others are saying about the Clarance DeMar marathon

The race director and the town of Keene do an amazing job supporting this race. Roughly 500 volunteers were involved in 2019, for a field size of ~400 marathoners and ~450 half-marathoners. The overall support is exemplary. The final third of the course runs around and through the town of Keene. This is local race and the town comes out and supports runners. There are plenty of well-wishers and locals cheering you on. Learning about the history and life of Clarence DeMar is inspirational. I read his autobiography pre-race and recommend it. The medals are big and cool. Heading up to Keene for this run makes for a rewarding and fulfilling weekend. Good luck if you run CDM (you won’t be disappointed!).
